What: Join MALT Educator and Camp Co-Director, Mo Bissonnette, for a day-long exploration of Wright Park’s winter woods through the eyes of deer, coyote, otter, fisher, foxes, and other winter residents. We’ll examine tracks in the snow, feeding and foraging sign, territorial marking, and more as we read the stories of our wild neighbors. Mo is a talented educator, connecting people in his courses with the tales of the forest around you. You will come away with an understanding of basic track and sign ID, track pattern interpretation, and the life history of our local mammals.
Mission connection: Middlebury’s natural areas are home to a variety of animals whose secretive travels and behaviors can come alive with a little knowledge and practice. The Middlebury Area Land Trust’s mission is working with our community to conserve natural and productive landscapes and to enhance scenic, recreational, and educational opportunities.
Where: Middlebury, VT; specific location will be one of our Town Forests or MALT lands, we’ll wait to see where tracking conditions are best!
